Poster

We wanted our poster to reflect the genre of the film which is a romcom. Therefore we used the colour scheme of purple/pink because it is girly and will help attract our target audience. Here is the picture we used.
This is the original image for the poster. The snow setting is quite romantic and although snow isn't shown in our trailer, the film is released during the winter so it still relates to the film. She is holding a handbag, wearing heels in the snow and an umbrella to show she is a upper class city girl. Whereas the boy is wearing jeans, hoodie and trainers because he is lower class so dresses quite casually and not smart compared to her.
We changed the picture to purple by going into hue/saturation in Photoshop and clicking colourize. As we wanted Alex and George to stand out, we cut them out when they were in their original colour and pasted them over the original image in a different layer. This allowed us to keep the actors in colour so they would stand out to the audience. We also blurred the background so the actors stood out even more.
This was the end result- We feel this is quite successful as the actors definitely stand out well and it targets our audience well as it is very girley.
