As we started to research our teaser trailers, we found out that we had mistaken the difference between a teaser trailer and a theatrical trailer. We thought the teaser trailer would be consisting of us showing glimpses of the film, however, when we looked into it more we found out that infact the teaser trailer is very short used to advertise an upcoming movie or game and are usually released months in advance of when the film is due to come out. It normally lasts between around 30-60 seconds long and usually contains very little film if any. A teaser trailer as we found out is usually letting you know about an upcoming film, rather than its content. It is usally shown whilst the film is still being made or being edited to add to the hype of the upcoming film.
A theatrical trailer shows alot more film and content and can be shown within 6 weeks before the film reaches our cinemas, whereas a teaser trailer will be shown 6 weeks in advance! A theatrical trailer is usally shown within one minute to two and a half minutes where they try and cram as much as possible of film to attract the audeince into wanting to watch the film when it is released!:) Compared to a teaser trailer, the theatrical trailer will show you part of the beginning, middle and end of the film in the length of time it has, whereas in a teaser trailer, it will show you the 'guest star' characters and the titles!

Glad you have made the discovery but a more detailed definition would be helpful.
