Opening scene of Cinderella
Well I watched the first two minutes of the opening of Cinderella and here is what i got from it(although most of it credits!).
Blue background is shown on the screen. A white sparkly type thing comes on to the screen revealing the Disney Castle, from the pictures and colours used you can tell its very old version of it possibly the original. A big flash of white appears and the logo 'Walt Disney' appears which is well known an without the Disney logo, you could guess it was Disney by the castle and the music playing in the background is trumpets and flutes. It sounds very magical.
A black screen appears and this then goes to the opening credits. The background is dark blue with pale blue writing 'Distributed by Buena Vista Film Distribution Co.,Inc.' with loud trumpets playing.
The singing then starts with very orchestrael music. The background has also changed with a flowery background, border going around 'Walt Disney Presents.' with a picture of a horse and carriage silhouette in pale blue so it is much more visible against the background.
The next slide is the actual Title name 'Cinderella' and the singers now actual start to sing spoken words...'Cinderella, Your as lovely as your name.'
The next slide is the name of the actors who play the characters voices:-
- Ilene Woods
- Eleanor Audley
- Verna Felton
- Claire DuBrey
- Rhoda Williams
- James Macdonald
- Helene Stanley
- Luis Van Rooten
- Don Barclay
The first two minutes of Cinderella is mostly credits apart from the very few last seconds but while the credits are rolling, there is singing in the background being played and i managed to catch what they are singing about.
'Cinderella your as lovely as your name
Cinderella your a sunset in the rain
Oh your dressed in rags, you wear an air of free me grace?
And anyone can see...?
Cinderella if you give your heart a chance
It will lead you to a kingdom of romance
And you see dreams come true
Cinderella 2x
In the sweetest story ever told.'
I didn't manage to get all the words as some were quite muffled, but from the lyrics it basically sums up the story of Cinderella.
The music then turns into strings and the screen then fades into a big brown leather book with Cinderella on the top in bold, white writing. The book has very intricate deatailing on it, you can tell that it is very old and aged and that someone is maybe going to tell the audience the story of Cinderella. The background is black.
Then it is like someone pulls curtains as the book is lit up in daylight. and the book magically opens by itself to reveal the first pages
The audience is then lead closer into the book. The first page reads 'Once upon a time in a far away land...' the writing looks quite medieval, fancy and swirly with black colouring at the bottom of the page. There is a picture spread across both of the pages but the writing on the second page cannot be seen as it is out of focus as the book wants the audience to focus on the first page and take it all in. Back to the picture, there is a picture of a castle with clouds surrounding it, this may be heaven? Below the castle is a what appears to be a town. On the following page we are shown a walkway/pathway to a house maybe? The page is very decorative. It has a plain border going around the picture and writing.
This is what i obtained from the first two minutes of watching Cinderella.
