Process of magazine

At the beginning of the magazine we decided to use this image
However, we encountered many problems with using the image for the front cover of our magazine as Alex is sitting on a bench with a girl next to her. We wanted to remove the girl from the photo as she is not in the film and we will post the images of our process to remove her. We also had trouble with the photograph as it is unconventional because magazines don't tend to have their main model image sitting down, the images are normally taken in mid shot. After discussing the problem we decided to not use the image and use a different one as it did not suit the magazine and we were finding it too difficult to edit.
We tried blurring out the other girl but we realised this would not work as it doesn't make sense why she is in the shot and magazine front covers do not use this style. We wanted our cover to have similar codes and conventions to most magazines so that it looked like a real media product.

In this picture we cut out the girl and then used the clone stamp too to recreate the bench and floor and wall. Despite successfully removing the girl we decided this still did not suit a magazine front cover so decided to leave the picture and use a completely new image.
