we have now changed the genre of our film as we encountered many problems with trying to fill the codes and conventions of the fantasy genre. After critically viewing our film we decided it is best to change our genre to horror!! As we have unknowingly filled the criteria needed for a horror!
We have:
Dark lighting
A slow pace - creates a sort of tense, anxious atmosphere
A vulnerable main character - a child-little girl
it is set at night - the highest point of drama in horror films usually take place at night!!
So we are having to re-think music, and editing and titles!!
We are also going to do more textual analysis' to try and get more of a feel for this genre and so that we can really edit it properly and thoroughly and get it perfecto !!
